Kabuli Chana Salad (Chickpea Salad) is a healthy and delicious dish made with boiled Kabuli Chana (chickpeas) mixed with fresh vegetables and a tangy dressing. Here's how to make it:
Ingredients:
- Kabuli Chana (Chickpeas) – 1 cup
- Cucumber – 1 (chopped)
- Tomato – 1 (chopped)
- Onion – 1 small (finely chopped)
- Carrot – 1 small (grated)
- Coriander leaves – a handful (chopped)
- Lemon juice – 1-2 tbsp
- Olive oil – 1 tbsp
- Salt – to taste
- Black pepper – 1/4 tsp (optional)
- Chaat masala – 1/2 tsp (optional)
- Cumin powder – 1/2 tsp (optional)
Instruction:
- Cook Chana: Soak 1 cup Kabuli Chana overnight, then boil until soft. Drain and cool.
- Prepare Veggies: Chop cucumber, tomato, onion, capsicum, and grate carrot. Chop coriander leaves.
- Mix: In a bowl, combine cooled Kabuli Chana and chopped veggies.
- Make Dressing: Mix 1-2 tbsp lemon juice, 1 tbsp olive oil, salt, black pepper, chaat masala, and cumin powder.
- Combine: Pour dressing over salad, toss well.
- Garnish: Top with chopped coriander leaves. Serve chilled or at room temperature.
Tips:
- You can add boiled corn or pomegranate seeds for extra flavour.
- To make it spicier, add finely chopped green chilies or chili powder.
