Kabuli Chana Salad (Chickpea Salad) is a healthy and delicious dish made with boiled Kabuli Chana (chickpeas) mixed with fresh vegetables and a tangy dressing. Here's how to make it:

Ingredients:

  • Kabuli Chana (Chickpeas) – 1 cup
  • Cucumber – 1 (chopped)
  • Tomato – 1 (chopped)
  • Onion – 1 small (finely chopped)
  • Carrot – 1 small (grated)
  • Coriander leaves – a handful (chopped)
  • Lemon juice – 1-2 tbsp
  • Olive oil – 1 tbsp
  • Salt – to taste
  • Black pepper – 1/4 tsp (optional)
  • Chaat masala – 1/2 tsp (optional)
  • Cumin powder – 1/2 tsp (optional)

Instruction:

  • Cook Chana: Soak 1 cup Kabuli Chana overnight, then boil until soft. Drain and cool.
  • Prepare Veggies: Chop cucumber, tomato, onion, capsicum, and grate carrot. Chop coriander leaves.
  • Mix: In a bowl, combine cooled Kabuli Chana and chopped veggies.
  • Make Dressing: Mix 1-2 tbsp lemon juice, 1 tbsp olive oil, salt, black pepper, chaat masala, and cumin powder.
  • Combine: Pour dressing over salad, toss well.
  • Garnish: Top with chopped coriander leaves. Serve chilled or at room temperature.

Tips:

  • You can add boiled corn or pomegranate seeds for extra flavour.
  • To make it spicier, add finely chopped green chilies or chili powder.
  • You can also add some fresh yogurt for a creamier texture.
